CHIROPRACTIC

Non-Invasive, Hands-On Spinal Manipulation

Chiropractors practice a drug-free, manual approach to health care that includes patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. In particular, chiropractors assess patients for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, extremity joints, and their effect on the nervous system.

Chiropractors are also trained to recommend therapeutic exercise, to utilize other non-invasive therapies, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.

Chiropractic philosophy is based on four principle tenets:

  •  The body is a self-healing, self-regulating organism
  •  The nervous system is the master system of the body
  • Any interference in the nervous system results in the decreased health potential of the body
  • Chiropractic adjustments remove the interference to the nervous system and allow the body to heal and regulate, naturally.

Is Chiropractic Care Right for Me?

The vast majority of patients who seek chiropractic health care do so for complaints of the musculoskeletal system, most often for conditions affecting the spine such as back pain, neck pain and headaches. Research studies have demonstrated that chiropractic treatment is effective for these conditions.

Adjustment is the most common form of treatment. Also known as spinal manipulative therapy, adjustment is a non-invasive, manual treatment procedure that’s carefully delivered to dysfunctional spinal or extremity joints. The primary goal is to decrease pain and restore function by improving areas of reduced movement in the joints and supporting tissues, and decreasing muscle tightness or spasm. Chiropractic spinal adjustments are specific, comfortable, safe and highly effective for people of all ages, all walks of life, and all levels of health.

Common Conditions Treated By Chiropractors

Virtually all health conditions can benefit from Chiropractors. Health conditions commonly treated by Chiropractic Doctors include Sciatica, Neck Pain and Repetitive Strain Injuries.

Custom Foot Orthotics

Properly made orthotics are custom moulded to the support requirements of your feet which have a direct impact on your posture and walking mechanics.

Orthotics can gently reduce problems associated with pressure points, muscle strain and abnormal forces on the ankles, knees, hips, and spine. Correcting poor foot biomechanics and gait alignments will bring you relief from fatigue and pain, allowing you to enjoy daily activities comfortably. Our chiropractors provide custom orthotics in a wide variety of casual, dress and sports orthotics, as well as shoes and sandals, to fit your lifestyle.

Consultations

All initial appointments take between 30-60 minutes. This includes an in-depth health history as well as your current health status. An individualized treatment plan is then designed to treat existing pain and provide a path toward complete pain relief and help maintenance.

Payment Coverage

Chiropractic care is covered under most private health care insurance programs. It is not currently covered under OHIP. Our resident chiropractors are registered as providers with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and well as Motor Vehicle Collision / Accident benefits. Some radiographic evaluation studies have recently been re-instated and are NOW covered under OHIP.

Seminars, Workshops and Events

There are periodic events, seminars and workshops sponsored by Achieva Health Chiropractors.
